“Songs For My Soldier” is a collection of cover tunes purposely chosen to communicate a kaleidoscope of emotions that represent the feelings and thoughts military wives/husbands and families go through when loved ones are on active duty beyond the U.S. shores. This CD album is dedicated "to our fighting soldiers that are putting their lives in danger knowing they might not return in one piece, or even at all."
It’s personal for “Elli” who is CJ’s army wife, Dawn Joyner, married to Sgt. Christopher Joyner assigned to 5th Bridgade, 2nd Infantry Division, 8th Squadron, 1st Calvary Regiment, “Dakota Troop” deployed out of Ft. Lewis, WA currently serving in Afghanistan. “Being a military spouse is rewarding since we are an elite group who share all the same ideals. I am proud to be part of the military.”
Now that “Elli” has raised all her children and has been blessed with many grand kids, it’s never too late to pursue her life-long professional songstress dream. Born in New Jersey and residing in and around Texas as well as the two Virginia’s, the different musical culture influences over the years have fused and created a spunky, southern, edgy, cow-girl “Elli” sytle voice that can masterfully cover most song style venues. The last two selections which are bonus tracks are sung with her two youngest sons, Christopher and Cameron Joyner. They say the songs they sing are thier Dad’s favorites.
4WayTopMusic has set aside $2.00 from the sale of each “Elli” SONGS FOR MY SOLDIER album to be donated to the Army Emergency Relief Fund administered at Ft. Lewis by the family Rediness Group (FRG) operating under Army Community Services. Emergency money is ear marked for families of deployed military because sometimes life happens beyond the size of their paycheck.
